The automatic reply to new leads

Every new lead gets "We've got your enquiry". Here is how it works and how to turn it off.

Last updated

When a lead source brings in someone new, FollowThroo sends them a short reply so they know their enquiry arrived: "Thanks for reaching out, a member of our team will be in touch shortly."

  • It goes by email from your connected mailbox, or on WhatsApp if the person left only a phone number.
  • It is sent within your business hours. An enquiry that arrives at night is answered when you open.
  • It goes once, when someone first enters your pipeline. A repeat enquiry doesn't trigger it again, and someone who asked not to be contacted never gets it.
  • Test addresses, such as anything at example.com, are never emailed. Practice leads from Google Ads or Facebook don't bounce back into your mailbox.
  • If the reply bounces, the address is added to your suppression list, so nobody emails it again.

Turn it off or on

  1. Open Settings, then Lead sources.
  2. At the top, switch Automatic reply to new leads off or on. Only owners and admins can change it.

Turning it off also stops replies that were waiting for your business hours to start. The person a new lead is assigned to is still told about it.
