LinkedIn desktop app isn't sending: what to check

Why the FollowThroo desktop app sends no LinkedIn connection requests or messages, what each pause message means, and how to get it going again.

Last updated

FollowThroo sends LinkedIn connection requests and messages only from its Windows desktop app, which drives its own Chrome window on your computer. If nothing goes out, the reason is almost always one of these, and the app usually says which.

  1. Is automatic sending on? In FollowThroo, open Channels, then LinkedIn. Under Sending, it says Automatic or You review each one. While it's off, nothing goes out and the desktop app refuses to start. Click Send automatically and confirm.
  2. Is the desktop app open and signed in? It must be running on a computer that's switched on. The LinkedIn card in Channels shows Desktop offline when the app hasn't been seen for a day.
  3. Is LinkedIn signed in inside the app's Chrome window? If not, the run waits on LinkedIn's sign-in page. Sign in there, including any two-step code.
  4. Is there anything to send? Check the queued invitations on the LinkedIn screen, and that the campaign is running, not paused.
  5. Is it within the hours? Automatic runs happen from 9 AM to 8 PM on your computer's clock, about every 20 minutes.
  6. Are there credits? A request waiting for credits shows Waits for credits and goes once credits are available.

Why runs stop early

  • After 3 failures in a row, which usually means LinkedIn changed its page or is slowing the account.
  • On LinkedIn's weekly invitation limit, a restriction warning or a verification prompt, at the first sign of it.
  • If the Chrome window is closed or the internet drops. The action goes back in the queue; no lead is failed for it.

Leave the automation Chrome window alone while it works; you can keep using everything else. What each lead's LinkedIn status means is in What each lead's campaign status means.
