Import leads from a spreadsheet
Bring a list of people from a CSV or Excel file into FollowThroo.
Last updated
Bring in a list you already have: from an event, from another tool, or from a spreadsheet your team keeps. Importing is free.
Steps
- Open Leads, then choose Add lead, then Import CSV or Excel.
- Upload a .csv or .xlsx file. For Excel, only the first sheet is read.
- Look at the result: how many were added and how many were skipped. Every skipped row comes with a reason in plain words.
How to lay out the file
Put the column names in the first row, then one person on each row below. Every person needs an email or a linkedin url. Everything else is optional: first name, last name, company, title, phone, tags.
first name,last name,email,linkedin url,company,title,phone,tags,city Priya,Shah,priya@acme.com,https://www.linkedin.com/in/priyashah,Acme,Head of HR,+91 98765 43210,"warm,hr",Mumbai
Capital letters and spaces in the column names don't matter. Extra columns, such as city, are kept on each person, and you can use them inside your messages.
If something goes wrong
- Some rows were skipped.
- A row with no email address and no LinkedIn link can't be added. The import tells you why for each skipped row.
- People you already had were updated, not added.
- FollowThroo recognises existing people by email (or LinkedIn link), so their history stays on one record.
Or let Throo do it. On the Scale plan, paste the list into Throo, or share the file with Claude or ChatGPT connected to FollowThroo, and ask it to add the people. It uses this same import: up to 500 rows at a time, with anyone already here updated rather than duplicated. It costs 3 credits per batch.
